Tips to Make Moving Stress Free

by Nancy Jenkins, CRB, CRS

Moving can be very stressful! Here at Nancy Jenkins we do our best to make it as easy as possible. As a service to our clients we provide the use of one of our 14 ft Nancy Jenkins Moving Trucks for free!  If one of our moving trucks is available when you need it, it’s yours for the day. We ask that you check availability in advance, keep your move to under a 50-mile radius, and gas up the truck before you drop it back off.

Before you load up the truck take a look at these moving tips to save yourself some time. Some of our favorite tips are #1 and 2. Packing an overnight bag is very smart. Make sure to include everything you will need for a day or even two; moving can be exhausting don't except to have everything unpacked the first day. Making sure to prioritize your boxes is also very useful. Having the items you'll need first in clear bins will make it very easy to find the things you need the most!

If you're ready for a move give us a call!

Burlington Free Press reports on an article in Country Homes Magazine, that Burlington Vermont is the nations most eco-friendly city. The report used data from U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Green Building Council, and more.  They rated environmental issues such as the use of mass transit, air and watershed qualities, organic farmers and farmers markets. Country Homes magazine has a circulation of over million, so it’s wonderful to see our little city get this great national exposure.

UVM Landscape Change Program

by Nancy Jenkins, CRB, CRS
Here is a website I recently discovered and found of interest, http://www.uvm.edu/perkins/landscape/. It is The University of Vermont's Landscape Change Program, an online archive of historic Vermont photos. Many of photos are from the 1800’s and compared side by side with photos from today.

One that I found particularly interesting is this 1859 photo of Burlington's City Hall Park taken from the Vermont House. It’s very interesting to see the changes that have taken place in the last 150 years.

I hope you enjoy this website as much as I did. If you find anything of particular interest please share by adding a comment at the end of this blog post.
