Real estate agents around the country are discovering that many people interested in buying a home are staying away from properties that require renovations, regardless of how minor they may be.

Says Lending Tree, an online lending exchange, "Homes in perfect condition have started bidding wars between multiple buyers,"

To compete in this Buyers' Market, home sellers should consider making needed home improvements, such as painting the walls, removing carpets that conceal hardwood floors, and eliminating clutter.

It's also important for sellers to consider their home's exterior, or curb appeal. Remember, the front door is the first thing a potential buyer sees.

Here's a quick tip from Nancy Jenkins: "Check your lawns, front doors, entrances to make sure they look fresh and bright. Be the home the buyer is looking for."
