Our Volunteer Work
Nancy Jenkins has been a passionate supporter of local charities in Vermont for many years. Along with her dedicated team members, Nancy contributes time and money to groups that are making a real difference in the lives of Vermonters.
Every March, the Annual Nancy Jenkins Free Movie Day collects over 150 pounds of food for the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf as well as donations for Women Helping Battered Women. The success of this event and Nancy’s enthusiasm have inspired the participation of other local Burlington businesses: Summit Financial Center, Building Inspection Services, and Wick & Maddocks.
Since 2008, Nancy has been an active board member for the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, VT. Again, she uses her connections with local businesses, such as Perrywinkle’s Fine Jewelry and Top Hot Productions, to promote the club at many fundraising events.
You will often see Nancy and her team passing out flyers and invitations for big fundraisers, like the Annual ONE Fashion Show Event at Higher Ground, which supports the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington. You can also find the Nancy Jenkins Team and friends serving up healthy lunches for kids at the Club Café.
Another group close to Nancy’s heart is Go Red for Women, an organization that celebrates the power of women to band together to wipe out heart disease and stroke. Nancy is an annual member of the auction committee and supporter of the Go Red for Women Luncheon every February.
Nancy also uses her role in the real estate market to encourage families, when moving, to consider donating unneeded furniture and appliances to women in need through Women Helping Battered Women. There is a natural synergy there, where a working mother who is rebuilding her life can truly benefit from the gift of a couch or a bed frame.
Nancy works with the United Way of Chittenden County on their campaigns. She is also a founding member of Star Power® Habitat for Humanity, which has funded and built homes in Denver; Washington, DC; San Antonio; San Francisco; and New York City.
Also, the Nancy Jenkins Moving Truck is available for complimentary use by local charities, like the Donald Cook Detachment, Marine Corps League that collects toys for their annual Toys for Kids of Vermont program.
We are pleased to serve our greater community!
