Among its other claims to fame, Jericho, Vermont, is the birthplace and lifelong residence of Wilson “Snowflake” Bentley (1865-1931), an American farmer and photographer who captured still photographs of over five thousand distinct snowflakes—revealing the astonishing beauty and geometry of each crystal. Many Jericho properties afford expansive views of nearby Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s largest mountain. Jericho has three distinct village areas: the Jericho Corners, home to the historic Old Red Mill; Jericho Center, with a large town green that plays host to a variety of events during the year; and the Riverside area (also known as “The Flats”), which is home to the new multi-use Mills Riverside Park and the Deborah Rawson Memorial Library. Many town services are provided in cooperating with the town of Underhill.
