There is nothing like summertime in Vermont. The sound of the water and laughter at the beach, the spinning of the bike tires going up and down the bike path, the silence in the lush green mountains, or just the friendly smiles of familiar faces on Church Street.
The possibilities in the summer are endless. If you are downtown Burlington, catch a show at the Flynn Theater, with a wonderful dinner before. Check out a list of restaurants, here! Make sure to get tickets early! Some just enjoy grabbing a creemee at Burlington Bay and watching the sunset.
Food trucks are in this summer and we know why! Grab some delicious food and spending the evening outside playing games, listening to music and enjoying the company of your friends. What more could you ask for on a summer night! No matter the night, you are likely to find a food truck somewhere. Tuesday nights, you can catch some at Adam's Farm Market in Williston for Truckin' Tuesdays. On Wednesdays you can find them at Essex Experience for Trunks, Taps and Tunes. Thursday nights you have a few options, either going to the Intervale for Summervale or heading to Veteran's Park in South Burlington for SoBu Nite Out.
Vermont isn't just about good food. We have some truly beautiful landscapes. Every summer you must make a trip to Shelburne Farms! The scenery, the gardens, the historic buildings, it is truly breathtaking.
Head south a little to Charlotte and take a hike up Mount Philo to take in the Lake Champlain and Adirondack views. There are many hikes and walking trails throughout Vermont. Pick a new one each weekend, grab a friend and enjoy the views!
Vermont also has a strong mountain biking community. If you are looking to give it a try, find a local rental and hit up some trails. Make sure to check the conditions before you go.
Whatever your interests may be, Vermont has something for you! There is nothing like a Vermont summer. We hope you come enjoy the last few weeks with us and maybe you'll end up staying for good!
